Regional Expert - SMART Villages Project
Ms. Nardeen Ezzat Eshak is a development professional with over 12 years of experience in managing donor-funded programs, strategic partnerships, and community development initiatives. She currently serves as Project Manager at CEDARE, where she leads the implementation of the Drosos Foundation-funded Smart Villages Project, which focuses on climate-smart agriculture, sustainable livelihoods, youth empowerment, and rural development.
In her current role, she oversees project implementation, stakeholder engagement, donor relations, financial management, and coordination with government entities, civil society organizations, and local communities to ensure effective delivery and alignment with project objectives.
Prior to joining CEDARE, Ms. Nardeen worked for more than ten years with the Office of Democracy and Governance at USAID/Egypt as a Project Management Specialist. In this capacity, she managed and supported a development portfolio exceeding USD 80 million, with a focus on women’s empowerment, youth development, social protection, livelihoods, civil society strengthening, and inclusive development.
Throughout her career, she has worked closely with government institutions, international donors, universities, civil society organizations, and private sector partners to design, implement, monitor, and evaluate programs that advance sustainable and inclusive development.
Her areas of expertise include project management, donor compliance, partnership development, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and community development.
Ms. Nardeen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The American University in Cairo (AUC) and is currently pursuing a Master of Global Affairs and Public Policy at AUC as a Yousef Jameel Public Leadership Fellow. She is also a former USAID LEAD Scholar and participated in a semester-abroad program at James Madison University in the United States.
