Dr Mona Dawood completed her PhD in Climate Change adaptation and Gender from the University of East Anglia, UK in 2016. She completed her Master of Science in Climate Change with distinction from the same university in 2011. Following an interdisciplinary research path, Mona has completed her diploma in Environmental Economics from the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research in Alexandria University in 2006 following her BA degree in Economics with Highest Honors from the American University in Cairo in 2001. Over the course of 22 years in the environment and development field in Egypt (at CEDARE), and during her studies in the UK (e.g., UEA, IDRC, ODI), Mona has worked on a multitude of research and development projects, particularly in the interdisciplinary fields of climate change, gender, livelihoods, and integrated environmental assessment. Mona has several publications in these fields, published in peer-reviewed international journals and otherwise.
The Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) was established in1992 as an international inter-governmental Organization with diplomatic status.
