International Day of the Tropics

The International Day of the Tropics is celebrated every year on June 29th. This date was chosen by the United Nations General Assembly to commemorate the anniversary of the launch of the “State of the Tropics” report, which highlighted the unique challenges and opportunities of these regions.

Purpose of the Day
Awareness: To raise awareness of the challenges, such as climate change and deforestation, faced by tropical nations.

Celebration: To celebrate the extraordinary diversity of the tropics, its cultural richness, and its development potential.

Collaboration: To provide a platform for sharing expertise and fostering collaboration among scientists, policymakers, educators, and other stakeholders.
