Ms. Mayar Thabet has over 20 years of experience in environmental and sustainable development project management, science-policy interfacing, and knowledge dissemination. She has coordinated multi-stakeholder initiatives, managed high-value portfolios, and edited and contributed to numerous influential policy-relevant publications. Her expertise spans partnership building, cross-cultural communication, and evidence-based policymaking, with a focus on Africa and the Arab region. A Chevening Scholar with an MA in Cross-Cultural Communication and International Relations from the University of Newcastle, UK, she is passionate about fostering international collaboration to address complex environmental challenges. As head of the International Cooperation and Multistakeholder Initiatives Unit, her aim is to strengthen ties with stakeholders from the global sustainable development landscape, including governmental, intergovernmental, and non-state actors, amplifying collective action and fostering synergistic partnerships and transformative evidence-based solutions and initiatives.
