Mr. Tarek Younes is an experienced advisor and leader in the fields of digital transformation and program management. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Mr. Younes has held significant roles in international development organizations. He served as the Digital Transformation and Tendering Advisor for the USAID/Economic Governance Activity (EGA) Project, where he has been instrumental in driving digital transformation initiatives and managing the project’s technical tendering activities for government stakeholders since 2020.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Younes served as Programme Manager at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) (2015-2019), leading large-scale projects in recycling, protectorates, and biodiversity. He successfully achieved operational and fiscal objectives while mitigating the risks associated with currency devaluation. Additionally, he played a key role in introducing the latest automation and industrial technologies to the recycling industry.
Mr. Younes’ career also includes notable leadership positions in both the public and private sectors, where he led the development of enterprise applications and drove digital transformation projects across various industries, including financial services, logistics, real estate, healthcare, and manufacturing.
As Program Manager at Amiral Management Corporation (2008–2015), he led cross-functional teams to deliver a USD 20 million public-private partnership project, overseeing the establishment of nationwide customs single-stop logistics centers. He also pioneered the creation of an SAP Business Line to address public sector post-revolution challenges in Egypt, successfully delivering ERP solutions across various industries using SAP ERP and SAP HANA.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Younes served as Regional Head of IT at EFG-Hermes (1996–2008), where he led the development and deployment of sophisticated financial solutions, including online trading, securities brokerage, bookkeeping, margin trading, and asset and portfolio fund management. Under his leadership, EFG-Hermes was at the forefront of deploying electronic trading solutions on Egypt’s Stock Exchange, Dubai International Financial Exchange, Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, and other regional financial markets.
Mr. Younes holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Louisville, JB Speed School of Engineering, Kentucky, USA. His expertise in program management, enterprise application development, and digital transformation has established him as a key figure in leading large-scale projects both in Egypt and regionally.
