CEDARE is pleased to announce the launch of the project “Economic Empowerment through Climate-Smart Agriculture and the Use of Technology (Smart Villages),” funded by the DROSOS Foundation. The project aims to enhance the economic empowerment of local communities in the Atfih District, Giza Governorate. It focuses on supporting farmers and building the capacities of agricultural management professionals by equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to adopt modern technologies, thereby improving climate-smart agrarian practices and creating new job opportunities for youth and women.
The three-year project is built on three interconnected pillars: enhancing governance and strengthening the capacities of agricultural extension engineers through modern tools such as mobile applications; promoting climate-smart agrarian practices; and supporting entrepreneurship, particularly in the field of agrarian waste recycling for the production of compost and biogas.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday, May 13, marking the beginning of a new phase toward more sustainable and innovative rural development.
