The Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) is pleased to announce its official accession to the Mediterranean Commission on Sustainable Development (MCSD) under the intergovernmental organisations category. This membership comes as a recognition of CEDARE’s strong capabilities in promoting sustainable development, environmental governance, and regional cooperation across the Mediterranean and the Arab Region.

As a partner of the UN Environment Programme – Mediterranean Action Plan (UNEP-MAP), CEDARE continues to support national and regional institutions through integrated analyses, applied research, environmental policy development, as well as providing technical support and capacity-building in the fields of environmental management and sustainable development.

Through its membership in the Commission, CEDARE will contribute its expertise in several strategic areas, including:

* Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM)

* Environmental assessment and reporting

* Capacity-building and institutional strengthening

* Enhancing environmental awareness and education for sustainable development (ESD)

* Promoting regional and international cooperation

This accession represents a significant step that reinforces CEDARE’s role in supporting sustainable development efforts and environmental resilience in the Mediterranean region. It also reflects the organisation’s strong commitment to regional partnerships, knowledge-based policymaking, and empowering communities and sectors to achieve sustainable development.

CEDARE looks forward to working closely with the Mediterranean Commission and its partners towards a shared vision for a more sustainable Mediterranean future.
