International Day of Zero Waste

The International Day of Zero Waste is observed annually on March 30. The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on December 14, 2022, to designate this day to raise awareness about waste management and promote sustainable practices.
Date: March 30 each year.
Purpose: To highlight the importance of sustainable waste management and encourage the transition to a circular economy.
Organizers: The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) facilitate the observance.
The Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) was established in1992 as an international inter-governmental Organization with diplomatic status.
