Faced with soil salinity, limited irrigation water, and declining productivity, farmer Gomaa Abdel Aziz Abdallah struggled to sustain his land and livelihood.
But with the support of the “Murunah” project, the challenge turned into an opportunity.
Through a newly designed surface irrigation system powered by solar energy—and in close collaboration with research teams and scientific centers—water quality improved, crop yields increased, costs dropped, and the land turned green again.
Gomaa’s story captures the essence of the Murunah Project’s mission: empowering agricultural communities through science-based, locally adapted, and sustainable solutions that enhance climate resilience and restore farmer dignity.
And there are still more success stories to come… To be continued.
