Waste2Fashion Project is Officially Approved! ♻️

We are thrilled to announce that the European Commission funded project, “Developing a Pilot Circular System for Post-Consumer Textile Waste in the Mediterranean,” has been officially approved under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme with an outstanding score of 92/100! Waste2fashion will address the shared challenges of Egypt, Italy, Lebanon, Spain, and Tunisia.

Cedare is a member of the Consortium of this initiative, which is the top-ranked project under the “Transition to a Circular Economy” objective, making it a milestone achievement in sustainable textile waste management.

About Waste2Fashion

The project aims to help Mediterranean countries transition to a circular and resource-efficient economy by minimizing the environmental impact of post-consumer textile waste and unlocking socio-economic opportunities in the growing sustainable fashion sector.

Key Highlights:

• Innovative Pilots – Two pilot programs will focus on textile waste collection, reuse, recycling, and prevention strategies.

• Regional Impact – Tackling shared challenges in Egypt, Italy, Lebanon, Spain, and Tunisia to develop scalable circular economy models.

• Empowering Designers & Startups – Supporting sustainable fashion initiatives and material revalorization.

• Policy & Knowledge Sharing – Delivering actionable solutions for policymakers and industry leaders across the Mediterranean.

With only 10% of 630 proposals approved, this achievement is a testament to our collective commitment to sustainable innovation. Implementation begins soon, and we are excited for the journey ahead!
