HowMuchSun Training – Supporting Operations at the Benban Solar Park

by CEDARE Team

On Tuesday, 7 April, the Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) held the first training session as part of the HowMuchSun project, which aims to support operations at the Benban Solar Complex through advanced tools that link weather conditions to solar power generation and assist in operational decision-making.

The first session focused on guiding participants through the workflow and demonstrating how to integrate satellite data, ground measurements, forecasting models, and analysis to support efficient operational decision-making. The session also aimed to enable participants to understand their roles and technical skills, ensuring that future practical sessions are designed to meet their needs more accurately and effectively.

The project emphasises the development of an integrated system combining monitoring, forecasting, and performance analysis to improve the management of dust, weather variations, and environmental conditions affecting solar power generation.
