On 7 September 2025, the world marks the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies under the theme “Racing for Air.” This is a call for urgency, collaboration, and innovative solutions for a healthier future.
At CEDARE – Centre for Environment & Development for the Arab Region & Europe, we are proud of our continued contribution to this cause. In partnership with UN Environment Programme, we:
• Developed the Africa Air Quality Community of Practice Platform for Cape Town, Addis Ababa, and Nairobi (2024).
• Are developing a new platform to enhance air quality and urban climate resilience in Gaborone, Kigali, Kampala, Addis Ababa, and Nairobi, with tailored messages for the public, practitioners, and policymakers.
Clean air is not just an environmental issue,it is about protecting lives, preserving ecosystems, and supporting sustainable development. Together, we can make it happen!
