Dr. Omr Elbadawy, international expert and representative of the Centre for Environment & Development for the Arab Region & Europe (CEDARE), participated in the First Arab Forum on Agricultural Statistical Data, held in Doha, State of Qatar, during 12–13 February 2026, under the theme:
“A Platform for Integration, Innovation, and Evidence-Based Food Security.”
During the second session of the forum’s second thematic track, which focused on investment and technological integration in the agricultural sector, Dr. Badawy delivered a presentation entitled “Data and Technology for Sustainable Agriculture.” In his presentation, he highlighted the pivotal role of agricultural data and statistics in supporting the transition toward more efficient and sustainable agricultural systems, enhancing agricultural investment opportunities, and improving evidence-based decision-making.
The presentation also addressed the importance of leveraging modern technologies, digital transformation, and innovation in developing agricultural data systems, contributing to food security and strengthening the resilience of the agricultural sector in the face of challenges related to climate change and resource scarcity.
The forum comes as part of regional efforts to strengthen Arab cooperation in the field of agricultural statistics, harmonize methodologies, and build an integrated data ecosystem that supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals across the Arab region.
