Centre for Environment & Development for the Arab Region & Europe (CEDARE) welcomed Professor Mohsen El-Batran, Chairman of the Agriculture and Irrigation Committee of the Egyptian Senate and Member of the Arab Authority for Investment and Agricultural Development AAAID, on Monday, 13 July 2026, to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation in the fields of environment and sustainable development.
The meeting focused on the role of the Egyptian Senate in supporting national efforts to address environmental challenges, as well as the legislative and institutional mechanisms that contribute to promoting sustainability and protecting natural resources.
The discussions also explored avenues for enhancing cooperation with the Arab Authority for Investment and Agricultural Development to support the implementation of joint development projects and promote investment in priority environmental and development sectors, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Professor Mohsen El-Batran is recognised as one of the leading experts in agricultural economics and agricultural policy. He brings extensive experience spanning academia, public administration, and parliamentary affairs, contributing significantly to regional cooperation efforts in the fields of environment and sustainable development.
