The Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) actively participated in the GEO Plenary and Ministerial Meeting, held in Rome, Italy, from 5 to 9 May 2025. This influential global forum brought together leaders and experts to explore strategies for leveraging Earth observation in addressing critical environmental and societal challenges.
During a key intervention, Dr. Omar Elbadawy, CEDARE’s representative, showcased the center’s impactful initiatives in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices across communities.
He highlighted the inspiring contributions of the Cirocco and Marcnowa activists, as well as the GAIA Club, all of whom are at the forefront of grassroots environmental action.
Dr. Elbadawy underscored the essential role of local engagement and youth empowerment in shaping a sustainable future beyond 2025.
