by CEDARE Team

The Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) participated virtually in a high-level workshop organized by the Arab League’s Sustainable Development and International Cooperation Department. Entitled “Analyzing Surveys to Update the Arab Framework for Sustainable Development Indicators for the 2030 Agenda”, the event took place on 4-5 May 2025, convening leading experts and institutional partners.

During the workshop, participants examined strategic approaches to enhance collaboration through the Arab Working Group on Sustainable Development Indicators. CEDARE showcased its extensive expertise in developing advanced environmental information systems, SDG reporting methodologies, and Regional capacity-building initiatives.

The Center highlighted its pivotal role in both the Arab Environment Information Network (AREIN) and African Environment Information Network (AEIN), demonstrating its cross-regional impact.

Key partners presented their SDG implementation roadmaps and support mechanisms for Arab states. The workshop concluded with plans for a subsequent regional meeting to refine priority indicators, where CEDARE will provide technical advisory support.

These collaborative efforts directly support the realization of Arab Vision 2045 and the region’s sustainable development transformation.
