Cedare – Centre for Environment & Development for the Arab Region & Europe, represented by Dr. Khaled AbuZeid, Regional Director for Water Resources, participated in the drafting group meeting of the Union for the Mediterranean (UFM) Water Ministerial Declaration, and the Workshop on the “Digitalization of the WEFE Nexus in Water Management”, organized by UFM and GWP-Med in Malta during the period of 6-7 February 2025.

Dr. AbuZeid facilitated the session on “Digitalization of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus”. The session discussed the strengths, weaknesses, and next steps forward that need to be done to improve on the strengths of digital transformation of the WEFE Nexus approach in Water management.

The workshop was inaugurated by the Minister of Environment and Energy of Malta, Miriam Dalli, who reaffirmed Malta’s commitment to leading regional water initiatives, highlighting the importance of collaboration and innovation in ensuring a stable water supply.
